Legends of Runeterra Welcomes Twisted Fate and Miss Fortune
“Lady luck is smilin” As we approach the release of the new Legends of Runeterra expansion, Rising Tide, more and more spoilers are announced, including two new champions. Representing Bilgewater, Twisted Fate and Miss Fortune arrive in Runeterra. Both of these champions offer unique ways to approach building your Bilgewater decks in the coming weeks, giving this region plenty of flexibility. Without further delay, let’s take a look at Twisted Fate, the Card Master.
Quick Impressions: Twisted Fate is a type of champion Runeterra hasn’t seen very much of yet. He has a very weak stat line while also being difficult to level up. However, Twisted Fate’s power comes in his immediate impact of playing a Destiny card, making him one of the most flexible cards in the game. There’s always a strong option to choose, as he can help clear the board with Red Card, stun the strongest enemy with Gold Card, and if you just need more cards or don’t need to interact at the time, you can always Blue Card to dig deeper into the deck. Twisted Fate isn’t an obviously powerful card, but it won’t take long for players to find out how powerful flexibility is.
Twisted Fate always has a trick up his sleeve, and he didn’t come to Runeterra alone. Joining him is Miss Fortune, the Bounty Hunter.
Quick Impressions: Riot may have left the strongest champion for last, because Miss Fortune is fantastic. Entering as a solid 3/3 body, with a powerful ability, Miss Fortune will be a cornerstone to aggressive Bilgewater strategies. Although they have the same level up condition, Miss Fortune pairs nicely with Quinn and the Scout mechanic, as Miss Fortune does not need to attack in order for her ability to activate. This may be the obvious first home for Miss Fortune, but expect to see aggressive strategies from all regions attempt to combine with Bilgewater, in order to claim Runeterra.
The release of Legends of Runeterra is almost upon us, and with 120+ new cards coming, what will you be playing first? Will it include cards such as Twisted Fate and Miss Fortune? Let us know in the comments or on the official Backlash twitter.
